product detail
An unmanned aerial vehicle is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. Its flight is controlled either autonomously by computers or under the remote control of a pilot. UAVs are deployed for a wide variety of applications, such as defence, policing, firefighting and surveillance of pipelines. UAVs are often preferred for missions that are too "dull, dirty or dangerous" for manned aircraft and are ideal as they carry a wide variety of sensors. In has become common practice for the national aviation authorities such as the FAA and CAA to require UAV licenses. The variety of available UAVs and potential applications mean that a mission and flight plan should be drawn up to ensure the aircraft operates within a regulatory and technical flight window. This risk assessment enables an operator or licensing authority to assess the risk of a mission and ensure that appropriate controls are in place both in planning and executing a mission. The possible risks, hazards and preventative measures are covered and can be extended to, added to and adapted to suit your situation. more...
